How does SuperQuilt Work?
Due to the special composition of multi-layers of insulation, SuperQuilt effectively deals with all forms of energy transfer (i.e. conduction, convection, and radiation).
SuperQuilt works most effectively by reflecting infra-red radiation. This means that not only is SuperQuilt effective in winter by reflecting heat back into the building and cold out but also in summer, SuperQuilt is a very effective solar over-heating barrier reducing the need for artificial cooling systems, preventing an uncomfortable build-up of heat in the building.
Superquilt is a 19 multi-layer, flexible, and easy to fit insulation that acts wonderfully as a thermal barrier, helping keep your conservatory warm whatever the weather. Did you know that 25% of your home’s heat is lost through the roof? That lost heat makes your conservatory colder and raises your energy bills. Having proper insulation installed, such as Superquilt, can make all the difference to these common problems, help your home retain heat, and increase energy-efficiency.
What is Superquilt Insulation?
Superquilt insulation is what we use to insulate our customers’ conservatories. Due to the high number of multilayered insulation, Superquilt effectively deals with all forms of energy transfer (radiation, conduction, and convection). So, you can be assured of having a conservatory roof that is well-insulated, energy efficient, and a comfortable temperature all year round.
How Does Superquilt Work?
Superquilt works by reflecting infra-red radiation. This means that not only does it keep your conservatory warm and comfortable in the winter by reflecting heat back into the room, but it helps prevent any uncomfortable build-ups of heat during the summer months, too.
Does Superquilt Make Conservatories Hot?
One of the most common questions we get asked about Superquilt insulation is whether it will make conservatories unbearably hot during the summer months. No, Superquilt does not make conservatories unbearably hot in the summer. Due to the special solar over-heating barrier, Superquilt insulation helps prevent uncomfortable heat build-up in your home, instead maintaining a comfortable temperature all year round.
Low U-Values and High Thermal Performance
When having a conservatory installed in your home, it is important to consider the thermal performance of the space. Thermal resistance of a property is measured in terms of heat loss and is commonly expressed in the construction industry as a U-value. U-values can vary from property to property and insulation quality can provide significant improvements.
Remember, the higher the number, the worse the thermal insulation quality. If you want to maintain a comfortable temperature all year round, aim to keep your U-values low by using Superquilt insulation. Superquilt combines 19 insulating materials so that you can expect U values as low as 1.61 w/m2K and a thermal performance of 2.71m2K/w. Simply put, that means you can expect a significant drop in heat loss, you can enjoy warmer temperatures, and you can benefit from reduced heating bills.
Superquilt is Easy to Fit
Installing roof insulation can be quite a big job. Manoeuvring large and heavy rolls of insulation into the roof space is difficult and can be damaging to your upper body. What’s more, many insulating materials can pose a risk to your lungs and irritate your skin.
Superquilt insulation, in contrast, is extremely easy to fit. Superquilt is wonderfully lightweight, despite the numerous layers, and is a pleasure to handle. Weighing in at only 880g per m2, there is no need to worry about any extra weight on the roof with Superquilt.
Does Superquilt Insulation Work?
Many people question whether conservatory insulation actually works and whether it would be worth it for them to have conservatory insulation installed. However, conservatory insulation is always something we recommend to our customers. After all, conservatories tend to struggle with regulating temperature, meaning they are either too hot or too cold. On average, without insulation, a conservatory will only be a comfortable temperature for a couple of hour a day – at most!
After having Superquilt insulation fitted, you should notice an immediate difference. During the winter, you won’t lose as much heat and you’ll enjoy comfortable temperatures. And during the summer you will enjoy a warm conservatory without the build-up of greenhouse heat common in conservatories during the summer time. So, when we get asked the question, ‘does Superquilt insulation work?’ Our answer is, yes and you should definitely experience the benefits for yourself!
The Benefits of Superquilt Insulation:
Superquilt insulation has a number of significant benefits for your property. In addition to meeting building regulations, being tested and certified, and providing maximum insulation solutions, Superquilt has a number of other benefits, including:
Keeps Your Home Warm in the Winter and Cool in the Summer
As we’ve already mentioned above, Superquilt insulation is one of the best ways to maintain a comfortable temperature in your conservatory. Conservatories are renowned for creating temperature extremes and this often means they are used far less as a result – what a lot of wasted space.
Having conservatory insulation installed helps keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer by maintaining a comfortable temperature, whatever the weather. Enjoy a conservatory space you can use all year round with the addition of Superquilt insulation.
Is a space-saving insulation solution
Conservatory insulation can take up a lot of space, especially if you are using insulating materials such as glass fibre. However, Superquilt is a significant space-saver. A compact 19 multi-layer insulator, Superquilt has been specially designed to take up less space when insulating a property. So, it’s the perfect choice for your conservatory if you do not want a completely new roof to be installed.
Quick and simple to install
One of the reasons so many people avoid having insulation fitted is because of how messy and tricky it normally is. However, one of the many benefits of Superquilt insulation is how quick and easy it is to install. What’s more, it’s a very lightweight material, making it perfect for insulating ceilings. Superquilt can also be fitted vertically or horizontally, however you require for an effective conservatory installation. A versatile, clean, and quality product, Superquilt makes conservatory roof insulation and incredibly easy material to install.
Superquilt Increases the life of your conservatory
Uninsulated conservatories often find that over time they start to develop mould and mildew around the window panes and door edges. The reason for this is often because uninsulated conservatory temperatures fluctuate significantly. Fluctuating from hot to cold can cause moisture build-up and mould formation, causing your conservatory to become damaged over time.
Having an insulated conservatory significantly reduces the likelihood of this problem by maintaining a comfortable temperature and protecting your conservatory from the elements.
